New York, NY (PRWEB) January 25, 2012

American Independence Financial Services, LLC (American Independence), a New York-based investment advisory firm and manager of fixed income, equity and alternative mutual funds, and separately managed accounts, today announced that several of its products have been newsmakers in recent weeks.

Two of the NestEgg Target Date Funds, the NestEgg and NestEgg 2020 Funds, Institutional Class, were named as ?Category Kings? for 2011 by the Wall Street Journal, joining the American Independence U.S. Inflation-Indexed Fund, Institutional Class, as a ?Category King?. The Category Kings list the top 10 funds ranked by total return for one-year performance for the period ended December 30, 2011 in various asset classes. The NestEgg Fund ranked 6th out of 145 funds in the Mixed-Asset Target 2010 Funds category; the NestEgg 2020 Fund ranked 10th out of 182 funds in the Mixed-Asset Target 2020 Funds category; and the U.S. Inflation-Indexed Fund ranked 5th out of 232 funds in the Intermediate U.S. Funds category.

The two NestEgg Funds are members of the NestEgg Target Date family, which includes 5 Funds, and are designed to help investors seeking to maximize retirement savings. ?We continue to believe our more conservative investment discipline is the appropriate one over the long haul,? says John Pileggi, Managing Partner of American Independence. ?And we remain confident that our ?best of breed? approach, utilizing both internal managers and sub-advisors to manage the NestEgg funds will add value over time, consistent with the conservative nature of the funds? glide paths and the intended goal of preserving capital in turbulent markets.?

The American Independence U.S. Inflation-Indexed Fund has garnered assets at a noteworthy pace, nearly tripling its assets under management in the past 12 months, noted Mr. Pileggi. ?Advisors are finding the Fund through screens of performance and manager tenure of this category. With investor concerns about rising rates and possible inflation, the U.S. Inflation-Indexed Fund provides an important tool in managing fixed income portfolios,? added Mr. Pileggi.

Jeff Miller, Portfolio Manager of the American Independence Stock Fund, was featured by Fox Business Channel on January 13, 2012, and discussed how his approach to Value investing has resulted in the Fund beating the S&P 500 index for 4 out of the last 5 years of his tenure, and 11 of the last 12 years overall. Several national investment firms have recently added the Stock Fund to their ?Select? and ?All Star? Lists.?

Important Disclosures

The information in this article should not be construed as a recommendation to buy or sell any security or to participate in any particular trading or investment strategy.

All investments are subject to risk. Investors should consider a fund’s investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses carefully before investing.

Equity securities are more volatile and carry more risk than other forms of investments. The Funds may invest in small and mid-cap securities which are more volatile than large-cap stocks. The Funds also invest in fixed income securities, which are subject to interest rate risks where the principal value of a bond falls when interest rates rise and rise when interest rates fall. The return of principal in bond funds is not guaranteed. Bond funds have the same interest rate, inflation and credit risks that are associated with the underlying bonds owned by the fund. Generally, the value of a bond fund rises when interest rates fall and falls when interest rates rise, however, the U.S. Inflation-Indexed Fund is indexed to inflation as measured by the CPI and may act differently. Specific sector investing can be subject to different and greater risks than more diversified investments.

CPI (Consumer Price Index) is a measure that examines the weighted average of prices of a basket of consumer goods and services, such as transportation, food and medical care. The CPI is calculated by taking price changes for each item in the predetermined basket of goods and averaging them; the goods are weighted according to their importance. Changes in CPI are used to assess price changes associated with the cost of living.

The target date of a Fund is intended for investors who are saving for a particular goal in life, such as retirement, or who need to withdraw a substantial portion of their investment in, or close to, the year in the name of the Fund. The principal value of an investor?s investment in the Fund is not guaranteed at any time, including in the target year designated in the Fund?s name as well as the years following the designated target date. The Fund will pursue its objective by allocating its assets amongst three major asset classes (stocks, bonds, and cash), which will change over time in relation to its target retirement date. The Fund intends to gradually reduce the potential market risk exposure over time by re-allocating the Fund?s assets amongst the major asset classes. Each Fund?s allocation becomes more conservative as the Fund?s target year approaches and after it arrives. A fund with a shorter time horizon allocates more of its assets to fixed income and cash, while a fund with a longer time horizon allocates more of its assets to equity securities.

Past performance is no guide to future performance and the value of investments can fall as well as rise.

Performance data quoted represents past performance; past performance does not guarantee future results. The investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate so that an investor’s shares, when redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost. Current performance of the fund may be lower or higher than the performance quoted. To obtain performance information current to the most recent month-end, please call 866-410-2006, or go to http://www.aifunds.com.

For more complete information on the American Independence Funds, you can obtain a prospectus containing complete information for the funds by calling 866-410-2006, or by visiting http://www.aifunds.com. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing. You should consider the fund?s investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses carefully before you invest or send money. Information about these and other important subjects is in the Funds? prospectus.

I think it is a gas liquifaction stock, but not sure. Have tried putting their notation into WSJ’s stock quotes and it does not recognize it, either. Is there a stock dictionary for WSJ listings. Thanks for any help.

For the latest Warren Buffett, go to WarrenBuffettNews.com – You may have the intelligence for success, but you’ve got to develop the habits of success. You’ve also got to invest in yourself and maximize your talent. Public speaking is extremely important. You may want to take a Dale Carnegie course. It can be worth more than a college degree. What can you do that others can’t do? It is important to work in jobs that you love. It is better to learn from other people’s mistakes rather than your own. You can only live life forward. Investing 00 with Buffett early on would be worth million today. You want to buy simple businesses that are easy to understand. Only buy companies if you can tell where it will be in 10 years. If somebody buys 50 stocks, can they really like #50 as much as #1? Don’t worry about diversifying and instead stick with what you know. In an environment like Wall Street, you can get overstimulated. If you buy a good business, you will do well over time. But you might not make all that money if you dance in and out every day. All you need is one good idea per year, and then ride that idea to its maximum. Wall Street makes its money on activity. You will make money on inactivity. Don’t think in terms of large caps or small caps. You want to focus on good businesses, no matter what size they are. Cash is always a bad investment. It doesn’t produce anything, and it is sure to go down in value over time. All assets are a hedge against the dollar. The …
Ok so I was wondering after the one free year subscription is done do I have to pay?? I know it’s free but I want to make sure there’s no catch. So can somebody please help me out?

Best answer:

Answer by Tellin’ U Da Truth!
Read the fine print. If it’s free for one year, you will have to pay attention to make sure that you don’t get automatically charged for renewal. You may have to notify in writing. Read up or call up and ask them exactly how it works. It’s WSJ for goodness’ sake.

Doing another app walkthrough today for you guys and this is one of my favorite apps on the iPad thus far. I love reading the paper and especially the USA Today and wish it offered a much more rich experience like the WSJ does, but sadly right now its not impressive at all. This app however is pretty awesome despite the reviews, so check it out and decide for yourself
need to find some stock prices in 1990 and 1992

Best answer:

Answer by William F
Not familiar with the WSJ website myself. However most newspapers like the NY Times have their archive available online. If you find that you have to subscribe, and don’t feel like paying the price, you might consider going to a library. If your local public library does not subscribe to the online version they may have a hard copy bound. No university library worth its salt should not be subscribing to the WSJ archive.

An Occupy Wall Street protester calls out Russell Simmons during his speech, asking Simmons about the credit card company he created, RushCard ( www.rushcard.com ). Simmons responded saying “I don’t run shit,” which of course is a lie. He then went on to promote the Obama Administration’s “Buffett Tax Rule” Bill, saying “I’m ready to pay more taxes”; a common theme from high profile people speaking at Occupy Wall Street and the Democratic MSM talking heads covering it. Now the Occupy Wall Street protesters are campaigning for the Obama administration to “Pass the Buffett Rule on Fair Taxation.” This demand is posted on their own website. The campaigners are demanding that the US Congress pass a bill backed by the Obama administration, which is comprised of Wall Street operatives and is a creature of Wall Street. The “Buffett Tax Rule” will do virtually nothing to make the ‘filthy rich pay their share’ — it will only raise taxes for middle class Americans and middle class businesses. As the Wall Street Journal reports, “Roughly 90% of the tax filers who would pay more under Mr. Obama’s plan aren’t millionaires, and 99.99% aren’t billionaires.” It is the middle class — not Warren Buffett or Wall Street corporations — who will be most hurt by the very policies the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ crowd are calling for. Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway still owes taxes from 10 years ago. Buffet is the ultimate Wall Street insider — he is the third wealthiest person on the planet …
if it does…what markets should i invest and when is the best time to invest in them?

Best answer:

Answer by stiffy88
Holidays do becuase big money doesn’t like to keep there money in the market over holidays because you do not know what info will come out about the company you bought stock in.If it goes down in pre market you will not be able to get rid of your stock in time before you lose to much money.Right now the market is over bought and do for a major correction down.Buy gold or silver to hedge against the market going down soon and inflation because of the weak dollar.

www.euronews.net It has been almost three months since demonstrators first came to America’s financial heart to ‘occupy’ Wall Street. But today the tents have been removed and most of the protesters have gone home. Some say it is now the symbol of the losing battle of the 99 percent against the one percent. Yet others warn that the fight to get Wall Street to pay its fair share of the financial crisis has just begun. This week’s “Reporter” investigates.

Question by Yogi: Where can I make some good gains in the stock market today, need something big today, what is a hot stock now?

OMG CYBE I LOVE YOU! YOU MADE ME A LOAD OF MONEY AND I”M GOING TO HOLD TO TOMORROW AND I BET I MAKE MORE. THANK YOU !!!!!!!

Best answer:

Answer by cybe
FTCH is hot and ready to jump in the next few minutes for the last couple hours of the day.

It’s up from .055 low today to .075 now, up 40%, and just started what should be a clime to close to .60 soon. Great company that just got capitalized for the entire year.

I’ve been watching this one to get in, it was primed to launch last week but had a sell off of shares paid to raise cash, 4% small dilution but caused a pull back. Now a FLAG formation is about to blow up, time to get in before the after lunch buyers come in, it’s looking prime and they will be on it like flies.

You could well come close to 800% on your money in a week to a few weeks, and gain some good gains today because it’s coiled working to jump up in the last 2 trading hours.

In April it gained 600% in a week, and between April 20 to May 18 it gained 1800% and it’s about to go again. Great company with a great product in software. I’m all in it now and I’m well up and holding for much more.

Wall Street Times

Question by Juan C.: Does anyone know of an unethical business topic that has appeared in New York Times or Wall Street Journal?
I need to prepare an oral presentation for my class about an unethical business topic that has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, or USA Today within the last year. Can anyone direct me to an article?

Best answer:

Answer by bgee2001ca
The recent collapse in the financial area such as Lehman Brothers, A.I.G. Fannie Mae, and Freddy Mac would all fall under the heading of unethical business practices.

Throngs of participants with the Occupy Wall Street movement marched to Times Square in New York City on October 15 in a mass protest. Once there, however, their peaceful demonstration quickly turned violent as cops attacked protesters with batons, pepper spray and . . . horses? RT marched along with them in Manhattan and collected some of this footage, which chronicles the journey from Washington Square Park to Times Square on Saturday afternoon.
